Under the direction of the Store Manager, you will oversee the fresh operations within the business by creating and driving a selling culture.  You will ensure operational excellence by building sales, retail merchandising, inventory management, and excellence in customer relations as you lead a group of fresh employees with accountability for setting the culture and vision of the store. 

The Assistant Store Manager will strive to show leadership in the community and create excitement within the store around selling.   As the ideal candidate, you will have a passion for sales, food and people, the ability to regularly think outside of the box, be personable and approachable to all those you interact with, have excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge of financial management and superior planning attributes.  Your commitment to providing top notch customer service and focus on selling will ensure success in this role.

Job Requirements:

Proven experience as a retail manager inclusive of the leadership skills required to develop and engage staff

Have the ability to develop an environment that created and fosters a top quality selling culture

Passion for working in a fast paced customer centric organization

Progressive retail experience and a track record of developing and initiating creative merchandising techniques to meet the needs of local customers

Strong team building skills inclusive of proven ability to resolve conflict using a flexible, diplomatic and objective approach

Have a proven track record in building and sustaining a team environment

Strong time management and priority setting skills

Strong financial acumen and ability to achieve financial objectives at a store level

Good working knowledge of retail systems

Ability to build short term and long term business strategies

Strong delegation and follow up skills

Solid understanding of Health and Safety and  Food Safety legislation

Previous experience in Fresh Department operations is a requirement.
